Modern Mozart

Hello again everybody! It's me, Psylova!

I'm back to tell you all about a goal I am working towards. You see, I have always had an interest in music. And I don't mean modern songs about how awesome the singer is, but actual, genuine music. Music that tells a story (preferably a story without swear words), and gets your imagination going!

Well, since I was little, I've been coming up with my own little pieces of music and singing them happily. Recently however, my dream of making my own music has become possible.

About a year or so ago, I discovered my favourite music composer. If you were to ask me who my favourite musician was, I wouldn't say Beyonce or Kanye West or Michael Jackson, I would say to you, loud and proud, Antti Martikainen! He's a finnish composer who makes his own epic music and releases them in albums. Along with him, my favourites are Derek and Brandon Fiechter, Brunuhville, Peter Crowley Fantasy Dream and Adrien von Ziegler.

Antti Martikainen uses a program called FL Studio 12 to create pieces of music so epic it breaks the Epic-o-meter (trademarked). Recently, I acquired the demo version of FL Studio 12 and my dream about making my own music has become more likely!

I have studied the art of using FL Studio 12 and am learning to play the piano. I am going to learn to write music and hopefully I will be able to make music as good as Antti Martikainen's.

Here is his channel:

My personal favourite tracks are:

  • The Heart of Wilderness
  • Wolves of the Sea
  • Throne of the North
  • Forbidden City
  • The Game Changer
  • The Strength Within
Enjoy!

  1. I love all of those music channels! I mostly stick to the epic/celtic songs of all of them (I can't stand metal or pagan sounding music, just not my cup of tea).

I love Antti's new album Adventuria. A Warriors Fate is one of my favorites and Snow Dancer is a theme for a story I wrote.

Definitely go for it! I'd love to hear what music you compose, Psy!

    1. Yes! I love the celtic and epic ones also - they fit my story really well. Could I ask you a question? What do you mean when you say pagan sounding? I'm not really sure what pagan sounding is and I would love to understand. Maybe you could give me an example of one? I agree on the metal - I love a strong beat, but metal can be way too much.

  2. I love this kind of music!

My favorite composer has to be James Newton Howard or Lindsey Stirling.

Celtic music is awesome, although I also love indie music and indie rock. :)

Good luck on your musical journeys!

    1. Thankyou Gray Marie! I don't know much about James Newton Howard, but I have heard Lindsey Stirling. She's pretty good! I like Roundtable Revival and Senbonzakura. What of her songs do you like?

    2. It's hard to choose, but my top two have to be The Arena and Shadows.
